And

angel

ἄγγελος

sounded,

σαλπίζω

and

καί

I saw

οἶδα

a star

ἀστήρ

fall

πίπτω

from

ἐκ

heaven

οὐρανός

unto

εἰς

the earth:

γῆ

and

καί

to him

αὐτός

was given

δίδωμι

the key

κλεῖς

of the bottomless

ἄβυσσος

pit.

φρέαρ

And

καί

he opened

ἀνοίγω

the bottomless

ἄβυσσος

pit;

φρέαρ

and

καί

there arose

ἀναβαίνω

a smoke

καπνός

out of

ἐκ

the pit,

φρέαρ

as

ὡς

the smoke

καπνός

of a great

μέγας

furnace;

κάμινος

and

καί

the sun

ἥλιος

and

καί

the air

ἀήρ

were darkened

σκοτίζω

by reason of

ἐκ

the smoke

καπνός

of the pit.

there came

ἐξέρχομαι

out of

ἐκ

the smoke

καπνός

locusts

ἀκρίς

upon

εἰς

the earth:

γῆ

and

καί

unto them

αὐτός

was given

δίδωμι

power,

ἐξουσία

as

ὡς

the scorpions

σκορπίος

of the earth

γῆ

have

ἔχω

power.

ἐξουσία

And

καί

it was commanded

them

αὐτός

that

ἵνα

they should

ἀδικέω

not

ἵνα

hurt

ἀδικέω

the grass

χόρτος

of the earth,

γῆ

neither

οὐδέ

any

πᾶς

green thing,

χλωρός

neither

οὐδέ

any

πᾶς

tree;

δένδρον

but

εἰ

only

μόνος

those men

ἄνθρωπος

which

ὅστις

have

ἔχω

not

οὐ

the seal

σφραγίς

of God

θεός

in

ἐπί

their

αὐτός

foreheads.

μέτωπον

And

καί

to them

αὐτός

it was given

δίδωμι

that

ἵνα

they should

ἀποκτείνω

not

ἵνα

kill

ἀποκτείνω

them,

αὐτός

but

ἀλλά

that

ἵνα

they should be tormented

βασανίζω

five

πέντε

months:

μήν

and

καί

their

αὐτός

torment

βασανισμός

was as

ὡς

the torment

βασανισμός

of a scorpion,

σκορπίος

when

ὅταν

he striketh

παίω

a man.

ἄνθρωπος

And

καί

in

ἐν

those

ἐκεῖνος

days

ἡμέρα

shall men

ἄνθρωπος

seek

ζητέω

death,

θάνατος

and

καί

shall

εὑρίσκω

not

οὐ

find

εὑρίσκω

it;

αὐτός

and

καί

shall desire

ἐπιθυμέω

to die,

ἀποθνῄσκω

and

καί

death

θάνατος

shall flee

φεύγω

from

ἀπό

them.

αὐτός

And

καί

the shapes

ὁμοίωμα

of the locusts

ἀκρίς

were like

ὅμοιος

unto horses

ἵππος

prepared

ἑτοιμάζω

unto

εἰς

battle;

πόλεμος

and

καί

on

ἐπί

their

αὐτός

heads

κεφαλή

were as it were

ὡς

crowns

στέφανος

like

ὅμοιος

gold,

χρυσός

and

καί

their

αὐτός

faces

πρόσωπον

were as

ὡς

the faces

πρόσωπον

of men.

ἄνθρωπος

And

καί

they had

ἔχω

hair

θρίξ

as

ὡς

the hair

θρίξ

of women,

γυνή

and

καί

their

αὐτός

teeth

ὀδούς

were

ἦν

as

ὡς

the teeth of lions.

λέων

And

καί

they had

ἔχω

breastplates,

θώραξ

as it were

ὡς

breastplates

θώραξ

of iron;

σιδήρεος

and

καί

the sound

φωνή

of their

αὐτός

wings

πτέρυξ

was as

ὡς

the sound

φωνή

of chariots

ἅρμα

of many

πολύς

horses

ἵππος

running

τρέχω

to

εἰς

battle.

πόλεμος

And

they had

ἔχω

tails

οὐρά

like

ὅμοιος

unto scorpions,

σκορπίος

and

καί

there were

ἦν

stings

κέντρον

in

ἐν

their

αὐτός

tails:

οὐρά

and

καί

their

αὐτός

power

ἐξουσία

was to hurt

ἀδικέω

men

ἄνθρωπος

five

πέντε

months.

And

they had

ἔχω

a king

βασιλεύς

over

ἐπί

them,

αὑτοῦ

which is the angel

ἄγγελος

of the bottomless pit,

ἄβυσσος

whose

αὐτός

name

ὄνομα

in the Hebrew tongue

Ἑβραϊστί

is Abaddon,

Ἀβαδδών

but

καί

in

ἐν

the Greek tongue

Ἑλληνικός

hath

ἔχω

his name

ὄνομα

Apollyon.

is past;

ἀπέρχομαι

and, behold,

ἰδού

there come

ἔρχομαι

two

woes

οὐαί

more

ἔτι

hereafter.

horns

κέρας

of the golden

altar

θυσιαστήριον

which

is before

ἐνώπιον

God,

Saying

λέγω

to the sixth

ἕκτος

angel

ἄγγελος

which

ὅς

had

ἔχω

the trumpet,

σάλπιγξ

Loose

λύω

the four

τέσσαρες

angels

ἄγγελος

which

ὁ

are bound

δέω

in

ἐπί

the great

μέγας

river

ποταμός

Euphrates.

And

καί

the four

τέσσαρες

angels

ἄγγελος

were loosed,

λύω

which

ὁ

were prepared

ἑτοιμάζω

for

εἰς

an hour,

ὥρα

and

καί

a day,

ἡμέρα

and

καί

a month,

μήν

and

καί

a year,

ἐνιαυτός

for to

ἵνα

slay

ἀποκτείνω

the third part

τρίτος

of men.

of the army

στράτευμα

of the horsemen

ἱππικόν

were two hundred

δύο

thousand

μυριάς

thousand:

μυριάς

and

καί

I heard

ἀκούω

the number

ἀριθμός

of them.

And

thus

οὕτως

I saw

οἶδα

the horses

ἵππος

in

ἐν

the vision,

ὅρασις

and

καί

them that sat

κάθημαι

on

ἐπί

them,

αὐτός

having

ἔχω

breastplates

θώραξ

of fire,

πύρινος

and

καί

of jacinth,

ὑακίνθινος

and

καί

brimstone:

θειώδης

and

καί

the heads

κεφαλή

of the horses

ἵππος

were as

ὡς

the heads

κεφαλή

of lions;

λέων

and

καί

out of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

mouths

στόμα

issued

ἐκπορεύομαι

fire

πῦρ

and

καί

smoke

καπνός

and

καί

brimstone.

τούτων

three

τρεῖς

was

ἀποκτείνω

the third part

τρίτος

of men

ἄνθρωπος

killed,

ἀποκτείνω

by

ἐκ

the fire,

πῦρ

and

καί

by

ἐκ

the smoke,

καπνός

and

καί

by

ἐκ

the brimstone,

θεῖον

which

ὁ

issued

ἐκπορεύομαι

out of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

mouths.

For

γάρ

their

αὐτός

power

ἐξουσία

is

εἰσί3rd

ἐστί

in

ἐν

their

αὐτός

mouth,

στόμα

and

καί

ἐν

tails:

οὐρά

for

οὐρά

were like

ὅμοιος

unto serpents,

ὄφις

and had

ἔχω

heads,

κεφαλή

and

καί

with

ἐν

them

αὐτός

they do hurt.

And

the rest

λοιπός

of the men

ἄνθρωπος

which

ὅς

were

ἀποκτείνω

not

οὐ

killed

ἀποκτείνω

by

ἐν

these

ταύταις

plagues

πληγή

yet

οὔτε

repented

μετανοέω

not

οὔτε

of

ἐκ

the works

ἔργον

of their

αὐτός

hands,

χείρ

that

ἵνα

they should

προσκυνέω

not

ἵνα

worship

προσκυνέω

devils,

δαιμόνιον

and

καί

idols

εἴδωλον

of gold,

χρυσοῦς

and

καί

silver,

ἀργυροῦς

and

καί

brass,

χάλκοῦς

and

καί

stone,

λίθινος

and

καί

of wood:

ξύλινος

which

ὅς

neither

οὔτε

can

δύναμαι

see,

βλέπω

nor

οὔτε

hear,

ἀκούω

nor

οὔτε

walk:

περιπατέω

Neither

καί

οὐ

repented they

μετανοέω

of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

murders,

φόνος

nor

οὔτε

of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

sorceries,

φαρμακεία

nor

οὔτε

of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

fornication,

πορνεία

nor

οὔτε

of

ἐκ

their

αὐτός

thefts.
