high priest

taken

λαμβάνω

from among

ἐκ

men

ἄνθρωπος

is ordained

καθίστημι

for

ὑπέρ

men

ἄνθρωπος

in things pertaining to

πρός

God,

θεός

that

ἵνα

he may offer

προσφέρω

both

τέ

gifts

δῶρον

and

καί

sacrifices

θυσία

for

ὑπέρ

sins:

ἁμαρτία

Who can

δύναμαι

have compassion

μετριοπαθέω

on the ignorant,

ἀγνοέω

and

καί

on them that are out of the way;

πλανάω

for

ἐπεί

that he

περίκειμαι

himself

αὐτός

also

καί

is compassed

περίκειμαι

with infirmity.

ἀσθένεια

by reason

διά

hereof

ταύτῃ

he ought,

ὀφείλω

as

καθώς

for

περί

the people,

λαός

so

οὕτως

also

καί

for

περί

himself,

ἑαυτοῦ

to offer

προσφέρω

ὑπέρ

sins.

this honour

unto himself,

ἀλλά

he that is called

obedience

the things which

he suffered;

being made perfect,

of eternal

salvation

them that obey

teachers,

need

χρεία

that one teach

ἀρχή

principles

στοιχεῖον

of the oracles

λόγιον

of God;

and

are become such as

γίνομαι

have

ἔχω

need

χρεία

of milk,

γάλα

and

καί

οὐ

of strong

στερεός

meat.

that useth

μετέχω

milk

γάλα

is unskilful

ἄπειρος

in the word

λόγος

of righteousness:

δικαιοσύνη

γάρ

he is

ἐστί

a babe.

νήπιος

strong

στερεός

meat

τροφή

belongeth to them that are

ἐστί

of full age,

τέλειος

even those who by reason

διά

of use

ἕξις

have

ἔχω

their senses

αἰσθητήριον

exercised

γυμνάζω

to

πρός

discern

διάκρισις

both

τέ

good

καλός

and

καί

evil.

κακός
