in Pontus,

Ποντικός

lately

προσφάτως

come

ἔρχομαι

from

ἀπό

Italy,

Ἰταλία

with

καί

his

αὐτός

wife

γυνή

Priscilla;

Πρίσκιλλα

(because that

διά

Claudius

Κλαύδιος

had commanded

διατάσσω

all

πᾶς

Jews

Ἰουδαῖος

to depart

χωρίζω

from

ἐκ

Rome:

Ῥώμη

) and came

προσέρχομαι

unto them.

were come

from

Macedonia,

Paul

was pressed

in the spirit,

πνεῦμα

and testified

διαμαρτύρομαι

to the Jews

Ἰουδαῖος

that Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

was Christ.

when they opposed

themselves,

blasphemed,

he shook

his raiment,

and said

blood

αἷμα

be upon

ἐπί

your

ὑμῶν

own heads;

I

ἐγώ

am clean:

καθαρός

from

ἀπό

henceforth

I will go

the Gentiles.

and entered

a certain

man's house,

one that worshipped

joined hard

to the synagogue.

the chief ruler of the synagogue,

believed

on the Lord

of the Corinthians

Κορίνθιος

hearing

believed,

πιστεύω

were baptized.

a vision,

φοβέομαι

not

μή

afraid,

speak,

μή

thy peace:

there a year

them.

made insurrection

the judgment seat,

fellow persuadeth

his mouth,

matter of wrong

ἀδίκημα

ἤ

wicked

πονηρός

lewdness,

ῥᾳδιούργημα

O

ὦ

ye Jews,

Ἰουδαῖος

reason

κατά

λόγος

would

ἄν

that I should bear

ἀνέχομαι

with you:

ὑμῶν

it be

ἐστί

a question

ζήτημα

of

περί

words

λόγος

and

names,

ὄνομα

of

κατά

your

ὑμᾶς

law,

νόμος

look ye

ὀπτάνομαι

to it; for

γάρ

I

ἐγώ

will be

βούλομαι

εἶναι

no

οὐ

judge

κριτής

of such

τούτων

matters.

the judgment seat.

the chief ruler of the synagogue,

and beat

him before

ἔμπροσθεν

the judgment seat.

of those things.

and then took his leave

of the brethren,

and sailed thence

ἐκπλέω

Syria,

Συρία

with

him

Priscilla

Πρίσκιλλα

and

καί

Aquila;

Ἀκύλας

having shorn

κείρω

his head

κεφαλή

in

ἐν

Cenchrea:

a vow.

the Jews.

Ephesus.

instructed in

the way

of the Lord;

being fervent

in the spirit,

he spake

taught

diligently

ἀκριβῶς

the things of

περί

the Lord,

κύριος

knowing

ἐπίσταμαι

only

μόνον

the baptism

βάπτισμα

of John.

to speak boldly

παρρησιάζομαι

the synagogue:

whom

Aquila

had heard,

ἀκούω

they took

προσλαμβάνω

him

αὐτός

unto them, and

καί

expounded

ἐκτίθημι

unto him

the way

of God

more perfectly.

was disposed

to pass

διέρχομαι

into

Achaia,

Ἀχαϊα

the brethren

wrote,

exhorting

the disciples

to receive

ἀποδέχομαι

him:

who,

ὅς

when he was come,

παραγίνομαι

helped them

συμβάλλω

much

πολύς

which had believed

πιστεύω

through

grace:

For

he mightily

εὐτόνως

convinced

διακατελέγχομαι

diakatelenchomai

the Jews,

Ἰουδαῖος

and that publickly,

δημόσιος

shewing

ἐπιδείκνυμι

by

διά

the scriptures

γραφή

that Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

was

εἶναι

Christ.
