we know

οἶδα

that

ὅτι

if

ἐάν

our

ἡμῶν

earthly

ἐπίγειος

house

οἰκία

of this tabernacle

σκῆνος

were dissolved,

καταλύω

we have

ἔχω

a building

οἰκοδομή

of

ἐκ

God,

θεός

an house

οἰκία

not made with hands,

ἀχειροποίητος

acheiropoiētos

eternal

αἰώνιος

in

ἐν

the heavens.

οὐρανός

For

καί

γάρ

in

ἐν

this

τούτῳ

we groan,

στενάζω

earnestly desiring

ἐπιποθέω

to be clothed upon

ἐπενδύομαι

with our

ἡμῶν

house

οἰκητήριον

which

ὁ

is from

ἐκ

heaven:

οὐρανός

If

εἴγε

so

καί

be that being clothed

ἐνδύω

we shall

εὑρίσκω

not

οὐ

be found

εὑρίσκω

naked.

For

καί

γάρ

we that are

ὤν

in

ἐν

this tabernacle

σκῆνος

do groan,

στενάζω

being burdened:

βαρέω

not

οὐ

for that

ἐπειδή

we would

θέλω

be unclothed,

ἐκδύω

but

ἀλλά

clothed upon,

ἐπενδύομαι

that

ἵνα

mortality

θνητός

might be swallowed up

καταπίνω

of

ὑπό

life.

Now

δέ

he that hath wrought

κατεργάζομαι

us

ἡμᾶς

for

εἰς

the selfsame thing

αὐτός

τοῦτο

is God,

θεός

who

ὁ

also

καί

hath given

δίδωμι

unto us

ἡμῖν

the earnest

ἀρραβών

of the Spirit.

Therefore

οὖν

we are always

πάντοτε

confident,

θαρρέω

knowing

οἶδα

that,

ὅτι

whilst we are at home

ἐνδημέω

in

ἐν

the body,

σῶμα

we are absent

ἐκδημέω

from

ἀπό

the Lord:

κύριος

we walk

περιπατέω

by

διά

faith,

πίστις

not

οὐ

by

διά

sight:

εἶδος

We are confident,

θαρρέω

I say, and

willing

εὐδοκέω

rather

μᾶλλον

to be absent

ἐκδημέω

from

ἐκ

the body,

σῶμα

and

καί

to be present

ἐνδημέω

with

πρός

the Lord.

Wherefore

we labour,

φιλοτιμέομαι

that,

καί

whether

εἴτε

present

ἐνδημέω

or

εἴτε

absent,

ἐκδημέω

we may be

εἶναι

accepted

εὐάρεστος

of him.

For

γάρ

we

ἡμᾶς

must

δεῖ

all

πᾶς

appear

φανερόω

before

ἔμπροσθεν

the judgment seat

βῆμα

of Christ;

Χριστός

that

ἵνα

every one

ἕκαστος

may receive

κομίζω

the things done in

διά

his body,

σῶμα

according

πρός

to that

ὅς

he hath done,

πράσσω

whether

εἴτε

it be good

ἀγαθός

or

εἴτε

bad.

κακός

Knowing

οἶδα

therefore

οὖν

the terror

φόβος

of the Lord,

κύριος

we persuade

πείθω

men;

ἄνθρωπος

but

δέ

we are made manifest

φανερόω

unto God;

θεός

and

δέ

I trust

ἐλπίζω

also

καί

are made manifest

φανερόω

in

ἐν

your

ὑμῶν

consciences.

For

γάρ

we commend

συνίστημι

not

οὐ

ourselves

ἑαυτοῦ

again

πάλιν

unto you,

ὑμῖν

but

ἀλλά

give

δίδωμι

you

ὑμῖν

occasion

ἀφορμή

to glory

καύχημα

on

ὑπέρ

our

ἡμῶν

behalf,

ὑπέρ

that

ἵνα

ye may have

ἔχω

somewhat to

πρός

answer them which glory

καυχάομαι

in

ἐν

appearance,

πρόσωπον

and

καί

not

οὐ

in heart.

καρδία

For

γάρ

whether

εἴτε

we be beside ourselves,

ἐξίστημι

it is to God:

θεός

or whether

εἴτε

we be sober,

σωφρονέω

it is for your cause.

ὑμῖν

For

γάρ

the love

ἀγάπη

of Christ

Χριστός

constraineth

συνέχω

us;

ἡμᾶς

because we thus

τοῦτο

judge,

κρίνω

that

ὅτι

if

εἰ

one

εἷς

died

ἀποθνῄσκω

for

ὑπέρ

all,

πᾶς

then

ἄρα

were

ἀποθνῄσκω

all

πᾶς

dead:

ἀποθνῄσκω

And

that he died

ἀποθνῄσκω

for

ὑπέρ

all,

πᾶς

that

ἵνα

they which live

ζάω

should

ζάω

not henceforth

μηκέτι

live

ζάω

unto themselves,

ἑαυτοῦ

ἀλλά

unto him which died

ἀποθνῄσκω

for

ὑπέρ

them,

αὐτός

and

καί

rose again.

Wherefore

ὥστε

henceforth

ἀπό

νῦν

know

οἶδα

we

ἡμεῖς

no man

οὐδείς

after

κατά

the flesh:

σάρξ

yea,

δέ

though

εἰ

we have known

γινώσκω

Christ

Χριστός

after

κατά

the flesh,

σάρξ

yet

ἀλλά

now

νῦν

henceforth

οὐκέτι

know we

γινώσκω

him no more.

οὐκέτι

Therefore

ὥστε

if any man

εἴ

be in

ἐν

Christ,

Χριστός

he is a new

καινός

creature:

κτίσις

old things

ἀρχαῖος

are passed away;

παρέρχομαι

behold,

ἰδού

all things

πᾶς

are become

γίνομαι

new.

are of

ἐκ

God,

hath reconciled

καταλλάσσω

us

ἡμᾶς

to himself

ἑαυτοῦ

by

Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

Christ,

hath given

δίδωμι

to us

ἡμῖν

the ministry

διακονία

of reconciliation;

καταλλαγή

To wit,

that

ἦν

ἐν

Christ,

reconciling

καταλλάσσω

the world

κόσμος

unto himself,

ἑαυτοῦ

μή

imputing

λογίζομαι

their

αὐτός

trespasses

παράπτωμα

unto them;

αὐτός

and

hath committed

τίθημι

unto

ἐν

us

ἡμῖν

the word

λόγος

of reconciliation.

Now then

we are ambassadors

πρεσβεύω

for

ὑπέρ

Christ,

Χριστός

as though

ὡς

God

θεός

did beseech

παρακαλέω

you by

διά

us:

ἡμῶν

we pray

δέομαι

you in

ὑπέρ

Christ's

Χριστός

stead,

ὑπέρ

be ye reconciled

καταλλάσσω

to God.

he hath made

ποιέω

him to be sin

ἁμαρτία

for

ὑπέρ

us,

ἡμῶν

who

ὁ

knew

γινώσκω

no

μή

sin;

ἁμαρτία

that

ἵνα

we

ἡμεῖς

might be made

γίνομαι

the righteousness

δικαιοσύνη

of God

θεός

in

ἐν

him.

αὐτός
