Likewise,

ye wives,

be in subjection

ἀπειθέω

the word,

λόγος

they

κερδαίνω

may

κερδαίνω

without

ἄνευ

the word

λόγος

be won

κερδαίνω

by

the conversation

ἀναστροφή

of the wives;

While they behold

ἐποπτεύω

your

ὑμῶν

chaste

ἁγνός

conversation

ἀναστροφή

coupled with

ἐν

fear.

Whose

adorning

κόσμος

let it

ἔστω

not

be

ἔστω

that outward

ἔξωθεν

adorning of plaiting

ἐμπλοκή

the hair,

θρίξ

and

of wearing

περίθεσις

of gold,

χρυσίον

or

ἤ

of putting on

ἔνδυσις

of apparel;

ἱμάτιον

let it be the hidden

κρυπτός

man

ἄνθρωπος

of the heart,

καρδία

ἐν

that which is not corruptible,

ἄφθαρτος

even the ornament of a meek

πραΰς

quiet

spirit,

πνεῦμα

which

ὅς

is

ἐστί

in the sight

ἐνώπιον

of God

of great price.

Turning from Evil

of one mind,

having compassion one of another,

συμπαθής

love as brethren,

be pitiful,

be courteous:

a blessing.

the eyes

of the Lord

are over

the righteous,

ears

are open unto

their

prayers:

but

δέ

the face

πρόσωπον

of the Lord

κύριος

is against

ἐπί

them that do

ποιέω

evil.

is he that will harm

κακόω

you,

ὑμᾶς

if

ἐάν

ye be

γίνομαι

followers

μιμητής

of that which is good?

ἀγαθός

Suffering for Righteousness

ye suffer

πάσχω

for

righteousness' sake,

δικαιοσύνη

happy

μακάριος

are ye: and

δέ

be

φοβέομαι

not

μή

afraid

φοβέομαι

of their

terror,

be troubled;

a good

conscience;

whereas

ἐν

they speak evil

καταλαλέω

of you,

ὑμῶν

of evildoers,

κακοποιός

they may be ashamed

καταισχύνω

that falsely accuse

ἐπηρεάζω

your

ὑμῶν

good

ἀγαθός

conversation

ἀναστροφή

in

ἐν

Christ.

be so,

that ye suffer

for well doing,

for evil doing.

by the Spirit:

was a preparing,
