Matthew 3:11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Matthew 9:37. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Matthew 16:3. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Matthew 16:14. And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Matthew 17:11. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
Matthew 20:23. And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Acts 5:23. Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
Acts 5:41. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
Acts 8:4. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
Acts 8:25. And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
Acts 9:7. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
Acts 9:31. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Acts 11:16. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 11:19. Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
Acts 12:5. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Acts 13:4. So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts 13:36. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Acts 14:3. Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
Acts 14:4. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
Acts 14:12. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
Acts 15:3. And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
Acts 15:30. So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
Acts 16:5. And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Acts 17:12. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Acts 17:17. Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
Acts 17:30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Acts 17:32. And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
Acts 18:14. And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
Acts 19:4. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Acts 19:32. Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.
Acts 19:38. Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
Acts 21:39. But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
Acts 22:3. I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
Acts 22:9. And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Acts 23:8. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Acts 23:18. So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
Acts 23:22. So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.
Acts 23:31. Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.
Acts 25:4. But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither.
Acts 25:11. For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
Acts 26:4. My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
Acts 26:9. I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Acts 27:21. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Acts 27:41. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
Acts 27:44. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
Acts 28:5. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
Acts 28:22. But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
Acts 28:24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
Romans 1:8. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Romans 2:7. To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

Romans 2:25. For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
Romans 3:2. Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
Romans 5:16. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Romans 6:11. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 7:12. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Romans 7:25. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 8:10. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Romans 8:17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans 9:21. Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Romans 10:1. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Romans 11:13. For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Romans 11:22. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Romans 11:28. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Romans 14:2. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Romans 14:5. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Romans 14:20. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Romans 16:19. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
1 Corinthians 1:12. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:18. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 14:17. For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
1 Corinthians 15:39. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
1 Corinthians 15:40. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
1 Corinthians 15:51. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
2 Corinthians 2:16. To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
2 Corinthians 4:12. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
2 Corinthians 8:17. For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

2 Corinthians 12:12. Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
Galatians 4:8. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
Galatians 4:23. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Galatians 4:24. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Hebrews 7:8. And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
Hebrews 7:11. If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law, ) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Hebrews 7:18. For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Hebrews 7:21. (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec: )
Hebrews 7:23. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
Hebrews 8:4. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Hebrews 9:1. Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:6. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
Hebrews 9:23. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebrews 10:11. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
Hebrews 10:33. Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
Hebrews 11:15. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Hebrews 12:9. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Hebrews 12:10. For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Hebrews 12:11. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
James 3:17. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Wisdom of Solomon 13:3. With whose beauty, if they, being delighted, took them to be gods: let them know how much the Lord of them is more beautiful than they: for the first author of beauty made all those things.
Wisdom of Solomon 13:16. Providing for it, lest it should fall, knowing that it is unable to help itself: for it is an image, and hath need of help.
Wisdom of Solomon 13:17. And then maketh prayer to it, enquiring concerning his substance, and his children, or his marriage. And he is not ashamed to speak to that which hath no life:
Wisdom of Solomon 14:2. For this the desire of gain devised, and the workman built it by his skill.
Wisdom of Solomon 14:8. But the idol that is made by hands, is cursed, as well it, as he that made it: he because he made it; and it because being frail it is called a god.
Wisdom of Solomon 14:19. For he being willing to please him that employed him, laboured with all his art to make the resemblance in the best manner.
Wisdom of Solomon 15:9. But his care is, not that he shall labour, nor that his life is short, but he striveth with the goldsmiths and silversmiths: and he endeavoureth to do like the workers in brass, and counteth it a glory to make vain things.
Wisdom of Solomon 15:17. For being mortal himself, he formeth a dead thing with his wicked hands. For he is better than they whom he worshippeth, because he indeed hath lived, though he were mortal, but they never.
Wisdom of Solomon 16:3. To the end, that they indeed desiring food, by means of those things that were shewn and sent among them, might loath even that which was necessary to satisfy their desire. But these, after suffering want for a short time, tasted a new meat.
Wisdom of Solomon 16:4. For it was requisite that inevitable destruction should come upon them that exercised tyranny: but to these it should only be shewn how their enemies were destroyed.
Wisdom of Solomon 16:9. For the bitings of locusts, and of flies, killed them, and there was found no remedy for their life: because they were worthy to be destroyed by such things.
Wisdom of Solomon 16:14. A man indeed killeth through malice, and when the spirit is gone forth, it shall not return, neither shall he call back the soul that is received:
Wisdom of Solomon 16:18. For at one time the fire was mitigated, that the beasts which were sent against the wicked might not be burnt, but that they might see, and perceive that they were persecuted by the judgment of God.
Wisdom of Solomon 16:21. For thy sustenance shewed thy sweetness to thy children, and serving every man's will, it was turned to what every man liked.
Wisdom of Solomon 17:5. And no power of fire could give them light, neither could the bright flames of the stars enlighten that horrible night.
Wisdom of Solomon 17:14. Were sometimes molested with the fear of monsters, sometimes fainted away, their soul failing them: for a sudden and unlooked for fear was come upon them.
Wisdom of Solomon 18:1. But thy saints had a very great light, and they heard their voice indeed, but did not see their shape. And because they also did not suffer the same things, they glorified thee:
Wisdom of Solomon 18:3. Therefore they received a burning pillar of fire for a guide of the way which they knew not, and thou gavest them a harmless sun of a good entertainment.
Wisdom of Solomon 18:4. The others indeed were worthy to be deprived of light, and imprisoned in darkness, who kept thy children shut up, by whom the pure light of the law was to be given to the world.
Wisdom of Solomon 18:7. So thy people received the salvation of the just, and destruction of the unjust.
Wisdom of Solomon 18:16. With a sharp sword carrying thy unfeigned commandment, and he stood and filled all things with death, and standing on the earth, reached even to heaven.
Wisdom of Solomon 18:17. Then suddenly visions of evil dreams troubled them, and fears unlooked for came upon them.
Wisdom of Solomon 19:5. And that thy people might wonderfully pass through, but they might find a new death.
Wisdom of Solomon 19:10. For they were yet mindful of those things which had been done in the time of their sojourning, how the ground brought forth flies instead of cattle, and how the river cast up a multitude of frogs instead of fishes.
Wisdom of Solomon 19:14. And not only so, but in another respect also they were worse: for the others against their will received the strangers.
Sirach 14:18. All flesh shall fade as grass, and as the leaf that springeth out on a green tree.

Daniel 3:23. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Daniel 12:2. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

2 Maccabees 2:26. We have taken care for those indeed that are willing to read, that it might be a pleasure of mind: and for the studious, that they may more easily commit to memory: and that all that read might receive profit.
2 Maccabees 2:28. But as they that prepare a feast, and seek to satisfy the will of others: for the sake of many, we willingly undergo the labour.
2 Maccabees 2:30. For as the master builder of a new house must have care of the whole building: but he that taketh care to paint it, must seek out fit things for the adorning of it: so must it be judged of us.
2 Maccabees 2:32. But to pursue brevity of speech, and to avoid nice declarations of things, is to be granted to him that maketh an abridgment.
2 Maccabees 3:8. So Heliodorus forthwith began his journey, under a colour of visiting the cities of Celesyria and Phenicia, but indeed to fulfil the king's purpose.
2 Maccabees 3:19. And the women, girded with haircloth about their breasts, came together in the streets. And the virgins also that were shut up, came forth, some to Onias, and some to the walls, and others looked out of the windows.
2 Maccabees 3:22. And these indeed called upon almighty God, to preserve the things that had been committed to them safe and sure for those that had committed them.
2 Maccabees 3:26. Moreover there appeared two other young men, beautiful and strong, bright and glorious, and in comely apparel: who stood by him, on either side, and scourged him without ceasing with many stripes.
2 Maccabees 3:29. And he indeed, by the power of God, lay speechless, and without all hope of recovery.
2 Maccabees 3:40. And the things concerning Heliodorus, and the keeping of the treasury, fell out in this manner.
2 Maccabees 4:11. And abolishing those things, which had been decreed of special favour by the kings in behalf of the Jews, by the means of John, the father of that Eupolemus, who went ambassador to Rome to make amity and alliance, he disannulled the lawful ordinances of the citizens, and brought in fashions that were perverse.
2 Maccabees 4:14. Insomuch that the priests were not now occupied about the offices of the altar, but despising the temple and neglecting the sacrifices, hastened to be partakers of the games, and of the unlawful allowance thereof, and of the exercise of the discus.
2 Maccabees 4:15. And setting nought by the honours of their fathers, they esteemed the Grecian glories for the best:
2 Maccabees 4:20. So the money was appointed by him that sent it to the sacrifice of Hercules: but because of them that carried it was employed for the making of galleys.
2 Maccabees 4:25. So having received the king's mandate, he returned, bringing nothing worthy of the high priesthood: but having the mind of a cruel tyrant, and the rage of a savage beast.
2 Maccabees 4:26. Then Jason, who had undermined his own brother, being himself undermined, was driven out a fugitive into the country of the Ammonites.
2 Maccabees 4:27. So Menelaus got the principality: but as for the money he had promised to the king, he took no care, when Sostratus, the governor of the castle, called for it.
2 Maccabees 4:29. And Menelaus was removed from the priesthood, Lysimachus, his brother, succeeding: and Sostratus alas made governor of the Cyprians.
2 Maccabees 4:41. But when they perceived the attempt of Lysimachus, some caught up stones, some strong clubs, and some threw ashes upon Lysimachus.
2 Maccabees 4:42. And many of them were wounded, and some struck down to the ground, but all were put to flight: and as for the sacrilegious fellow himself, they slew him beside the treasury.
2 Maccabees 4:47. So Menelaus, who was guilty of all the evil, was acquitted by him of the accusations: and those poor men, who, if they had pleaded their cause even before Scythians, should have been judged innocent, were condemned to death.
2 Maccabees 5:7. Yet he did not get the principality, but received confusion at the end, for the reward of his treachery, and fled again into the country of the Ammonites.
2 Maccabees 5:11. Now when these things were done, the king suspected that the Jews would forsake the alliance: whereupon departing out of Egypt with a furious mind, he took the city by force of arms,
2 Maccabees 5:14. And there were slain in the space of three whole days fourscore thousand, forty thousand were made prisoners, and as many sold.
2 Maccabees 5:21. So when Antiochus had taken away out of the temple a thousand and eight hundred talents, he went back in all haste to Antioch, thinking through pride that he might now make the land navigable, and the sea passable on foot: such was the haughtiness of his mind.
2 Maccabees 5:22. He left also governors to afflict the people: at Jerusalem, Philip, a Phrygian by birth, but in manners more barbarous than he that set him there:
2 Maccabees 6:4. For the temple was full of the riot and revellings of the Gentiles: and of men lying with lewd women. And women thrust themselves of their accord into the holy places, and brought in things that were not lawful.
2 Maccabees 6:16. And therefore he never withdraweth his mercy from us: but though he chastise his people with adversity he forsaketh them not.
2 Maccabees 6:27. Wherefore, by departing manfully out of this life, I shall shew myself worthy of my old age:
2 Maccabees 7:9. And when he was at the last gasp, he said thus: Thou indeed, O most wicked man, destroyest us out of this present life: but the King of the world will raise us up, who die for his laws, in the resurrection of eternal life.
2 Maccabees 7:14. And when he was now ready to die, he spoke thus: It is better, being put to death by men, to look for hope from God, to be raised up again by him; for, as to thee, thou shalt have no resurrection unto life.
2 Maccabees 7:36. For my brethren having now undergone a short pain, are under the covenant of eternal life: but thou, by the judgment of God, shalt receive just punishment for thy pride.
2 Maccabees 7:42. But now there is enough said of the sacrifices and of the excessive cruelties.
2 Maccabees 8:18. For, said he, they trust in their weapons, and in their boldness: but we trust in the Almighty Lord, who at a beck can utterly destroy both them that come against us, and the whole world.
2 Maccabees 9:14. And the city, to which he was going in haste to lay it even with the ground, and to make it a common burying place, he now desireth to make free:
2 Maccabees 9:28. Thus the murderer and blasphemer being grievously struck, as himself had treated others, died a miserable death in a strange country, among the mountains.
2 Maccabees 10:1. But Machabeus, and they that were with him, by the protection of the Lord, recovered the temple and the city again.
2 Maccabees 10:9. And this was the end of Antiochus, that was called the Illustrious.
2 Maccabees 10:22. So he put these traitors to death, and forthwith took the two towers.
2 Maccabees 10:28. But as soon as the sun was risen both sides joined battle: the one part having, with their valour, the Lord for a surety of victory, and success: but the other side making their rage their leader in battle.
2 Maccabees 11:2. Gathered together fourscore thousand men, and all the horsemen, and came against the Jews, thinking to take the city, and make it a habitation of the Gentiles:
2 Maccabees 11:5. So he came into Judea, and approaching to Bethsura, which was in a narrow place, the space of five furlongs from Jerusalem, he laid siege to that fortress.
2 Maccabees 11:16. For there were letters written to the Jews from Lysias, to this effect: Lysias, to the people of the Jews, greeting.
2 Maccabees 11:18. Therefore whatsoever things could be reported to the king, I have represented to him: and he hath granted as much as the matter permitted.
2 Maccabees 11:19. If, therefore, you will keep yourselves loyal in affairs, hereafter also I will endeavour to be a means of your good.
2 Maccabees 12:1. When these covenants were made, Lysias went to the king, and the Jews gave themselves to husbandry.
2 Maccabees 12:6. He came against those murderers of his brethren, and set the haven on fire in the night, burnt the boats, and slew with the sword them that escaped from the fire.
2 Maccabees 12:18. But as for Timotheus, they found him not in those places, for before he had dispatched any thing he went back, having left a very strong garrison in a certain hold:
2 Maccabees 12:24. And Timotheus himself fell into the hands of the band of Dositheus and Sosipater, and with many prayers he besought them to let him go with his life, because he had the parents and brethren of many of the Jews, who, by his death, might happen to be deceived.
2 Maccabees 14:8. Principally indeed out of fidelity to the king's interests, but in the next place also to provide for the good of my countrymen: for all our nation suffereth much from the evil proceedings of these men.
2 Maccabees 14:13. Giving him in charge, to take Judas himself: and disperse all them that were with him, and to make Alcimus the high priest of the great temple.
2 Maccabees 14:27. Then the king, being in a rage, and provoked with this man's wicked accusation, wrote to Nicanor, signifying that he was greatly displeased with the covenant of friendship: and that he commanded him nevertheless to send Machabeus prisoner in all haste to Antioch.
2 Maccabees 15:6. So Nicanor being puffed up with exceeding great pride, thought to set up a public monument of his victory over Judas.
2 Maccabees 15:12. Now the vision was in this manner. Onias, who had been high priest, a good and virtuous man, modest in his looks, gentle in his manners, and graceful in speech, and who from a child was exercised in virtues holding up his hands, prayed for all the people of the Jews:
2 Maccabees 15:24. That they may be afraid, who come with blasphemy against thy holy people. And thus he concluded his prayer.
2 Maccabees 15:27. So fighting with their hands, but praying to the Lord with their hearts, they slew no less than five and thirty thousand, being greatly cheered with the presence of God.
2 Maccabees 15:38. So these things being done with relation to Nicanor, and from that time the city being possessed by the Hebrews, I also will here make an end of my narration.
