Matthew 5:45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

1 Samuel 26:16. This thing is not good that thou hast done. As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not kept your master, the LORD'S anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his bolster.

1 Samuel 27:1. And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

1 Samuel 29:6. Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

2 Samuel 18:27. And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.

Ezra 9:12. Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.

Nehemiah 2:5. And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.

Nehemiah 2:18. Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

Nehemiah 5:9. Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?

Nehemiah 5:19. Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.

Proverbs 11:23. The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Proverbs 11:27. He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

Proverbs 12:14. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Proverbs 12:25. Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Proverbs 13:2. A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

Proverbs 13:12. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Proverbs 13:13. Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

Proverbs 13:15. Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Proverbs 13:21. Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

Proverbs 13:22. A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Proverbs 14:14. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Proverbs 14:19. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Proverbs 14:22. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Proverbs 14:33. Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

Proverbs 15:3. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15:15. All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

Proverbs 15:30. The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

Proverbs 16:7. When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Proverbs 16:17. The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

Proverbs 16:20. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Proverbs 16:29. A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

Proverbs 17:1. Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

Proverbs 17:13. Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

Proverbs 17:20. He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.

Proverbs 18:22. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Proverbs 19:7. All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

Proverbs 19:8. He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

Proverbs 22:1. A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Proverbs 22:21. That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Proverbs 24:7. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

Proverbs 24:13. My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

Proverbs 24:25. But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

Proverbs 24:26. Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

Proverbs 24:34. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 30:23. For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

Proverbs 31:12. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Ecclesiastes 2:1. I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 2:3. I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.

Ecclesiastes 2:24. There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

Ecclesiastes 2:26. For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 3:12. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

Ecclesiastes 3:13. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:22. Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Ecclesiastes 4:3. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 4:6. Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 4:9. Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

Ecclesiastes 4:13. Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

Ecclesiastes 5:5. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Ecclesiastes 5:18. Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

Ecclesiastes 6:3. If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.

Ecclesiastes 6:9. Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 6:12. For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

Ecclesiastes 7:1. A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

Ecclesiastes 7:2. It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.

Ecclesiastes 7:3. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Ecclesiastes 7:5. It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Ecclesiastes 7:8. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Ecclesiastes 7:10. Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.

Ecclesiastes 7:11. Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

Ecclesiastes 7:14. In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

Ecclesiastes 7:18. It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.

Ecclesiastes 7:20. For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Ecclesiastes 7:26. And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

Ecclesiastes 8:12. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

Ecclesiastes 8:13. But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

Ecclesiastes 8:15. Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 9:2. All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

Ecclesiastes 9:4. For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Ecclesiastes 9:7. Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

Ecclesiastes 9:16. Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

Ecclesiastes 9:18. Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.

Ecclesiastes 11:6. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Ecclesiastes 11:7. Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:

Ecclesiastes 12:14. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Song of Solomon 1:2. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Song of Solomon 7:9. And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.

Wisdom of Solomon 2:6. Come, therefore, and let us enjoy the good things that are present, and let us speedily use the creatures as in youth.

Wisdom of Solomon 3:15. For the fruit of good labours is glorious, and the root of wisdom never faileth.

Wisdom of Solomon 8:19. And I was a witty child, and had received a good soul.

Wisdom of Solomon 8:20. And whereas I was more good, I came to a body undefiled.

Wisdom of Solomon 12:21. With what circumspection hast thou judged thy own children, to whose parents thou hast sworn, and made covenants of good promises?

Wisdom of Solomon 13:1. But all men are vain, in whom there is not the knowledge of God: and who by these good things that are seen, could not understand him that is, neither by attending to the works have acknowledged who was the workman:

Wisdom of Solomon 14:26. Forgetfulness of God, defiling of souls, changing of nature, disorder in marriage, and the irregularity of adultery and uncleanness.

Wisdom of Solomon 18:9. For the just children of good men were offering sacrifice secretly, and they unanimously ordered a law of justice: that the just should receive both good and evil alike, singing now the praises of the fathers.

Sirach 2:9. Ye that fear the Lord hope in him, and mercy shall come to you for your delight.

Sirach 6:11. A friend if he continue steadfast, shall be to thee as thyself, and shall act with confidence among them of thy household.

Sirach 6:19. Come to her as one that plougheth, and soweth, and wait for her good fruits:

Sirach 7:13. Devise not a lie against thy brother: neither do the like against thy friend.

Sirach 7:19. Humble thy spirit very much: for the vengeance on the flesh of the ungodly is fire and worms.

Sirach 11:12. Again, there is an inactive man that wanteth help, is very weak in ability, and full of poverty:

Sirach 11:14. Good things and evil, life and death, poverty and riches, are from God.

Sirach 11:19. In that he saith: I have found me rest, and now I will eat of my goods alone:

Sirach 11:23. For it is easy in the eyes of God on a sudden to make the poor man rich.

Sirach 11:25. Say not: What need I, and what good shall I have by this?

Sirach 11:31. Bring not every man into thy house: for many are the snares of the deceitful.

Sirach 12:1. If thou do good, know to whom thou dost it, and there shall be much thanks for thy good deeds.

Sirach 12:3. For there is no good for him that is always occupied in evil, and that giveth no alms: for the Highest hateth sinners, and hath mercy on the penitent.

Sirach 12:5. Give to the good, and receive not a sinner.

Sirach 12:7. For thou shalt receive twice as much evil for all the good thou shalt have done to him: for the Highest also hateth sinners, and will repay vengeance to the ungodly.

Sirach 12:8. A friend shall not be known in prosperity, and an enemy shall not be hidden in adversity.

Sirach 12:9. In the prosperity of a man, his enemies are grieved: and a friend is known in his adversity.

Sirach 13:24. And as humility is an abomination to the proud: so also the rich man abhorreth the poor.

Sirach 13:25. When a rich man is shaken, he is kept up by his friends: but when a poor man is fallen down, he is thrust away even by his acquaintance.

Sirach 13:26. When a rich man hath been deceived, he hath many helpers: he hath spoken proud things, and they have justified him.

Sirach 14:4. He that gathereth together by wronging his own soul, gathereth for others, and another will squander away his goods in rioting.

Sirach 14:5. He that is evil to himself, to whom will he be good? and he shall not take pleasure in his goods.

Sirach 14:14. Defraud not thyself of the good day, and let not the part of a good gift overpass thee.

Sirach 14:25. He that lodgeth near her house, and fastening a pin in her walls shall set up his tent high unto her, where good things shall rest in his lodging for ever.

Sirach 16:29. Be not thou incredulous to his word.

Sirach 17:7. He set his eye upon their hearts to shew them the greatness of his works:

Sirach 18:8. The number of the days of men at the most are a hundred years, as a drop of water of the sea are they esteemed: and as a pebble of the sand, so are a few years compared to eternity.

Sirach 18:15. My son, in thy good deeds, make no complaint, and when thou givest any thing, add not grief by an evil word.

Sirach 18:17. Lo, is not a word better than a gift? but both are with a justified man.

Sirach 20:16. To day a man lendeth, and to morrow he asketh it again: such a man as this is hateful.

Sirach 22:23. As a fearful heart in the thought of a fool at all times will not fear, so neither shall he that continueth always in the commandments of God.

Sirach 26:1. Happy is the husband of a good wife: for the number of his years is double.

Sirach 26:3. A good wife is a good portion, she shall be given in the portion of them that fear God, to a man for his good deeds.

Sirach 26:4. Rich or poor, if his heart is good, his countenance shall be cheerful at all times.

Sirach 26:16. The grace of a diligent woman shall delight her husband, and shall fat his bones.

Sirach 29:14. Place thy treasure in the commandments of the most High, and it shall bring thee more profit than gold.

Sirach 29:16. Better than the shield of the mighty, and better than the spear:

Sirach 30:18. Good things that are hidden in a mouth that is shut, are as messes of meat set about a grave.

Sirach 30:25. For sadness hath killed many, and there is no profit in it.

Sirach 31:11. Therefore are his goods established in the Lord, and all the church of the saints shall declare his alms.

Sirach 32:13. In the company of great men take not upon thee: and when the ancients are present, speak not much.

Sirach 33:14. All his ways are according to his ordering: so man is in the hand of him that made him, and he will render to him according to his judgment.

Sirach 35:7. For all these things are to be done because of the commandment of God.

Sirach 35:9. The sacrifice of the just is acceptable, and the Lord will not forget the memorial thereof.

Sirach 37:18. The soul of a holy man discovereth sometimes true things, more than seven watchmen that sit in a high place to watch.

Sirach 39:4. He shall serve among great men, and appear before the governor.

Sirach 39:25. He seeth from eternity to eternity, and there is nothing wonderful before him.

Sirach 39:27. His blessing hath overflowed like a river.

Sirach 39:33. There are spirits that are created for vengeance, and in their fury they lay on grievous torments.

Sirach 41:11. Woe to you, ungodly men, who have forsaken the law of the most high Lord.

Sirach 41:13. All things that are of the earth, shall return into the earth: so the ungodly shall from malediction to destruction.

Sirach 42:25. All things are double, one against another, and he hath made nothing defective.

Sirach 44:11. Good things continue with their seed,

Sirach 45:26. He prepared them bread in the first place unto fulness: for the sacrifices also of the Lord they shall eat, which he gave to him, and to his seed.

Sirach 51:18. When I was yet young, before I wandered about, I sought for wisdom openly in my prayer.

Sirach 51:21. I bowed down my ear a little, and received her.

Isaiah 1:19. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Isaiah 7:15. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

Isaiah 7:16. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Isaiah 39:8. Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

Isaiah 52:7. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Isaiah 55:2. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Isaiah 55:3. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 58:14. Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isaiah 63:7. I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

Jeremiah 2:7. And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Jeremiah 5:25. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Jeremiah 6:16. Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Jeremiah 8:15. We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

Jeremiah 10:5. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Jeremiah 14:19. Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!

Jeremiah 15:11. The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

Jeremiah 17:6. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Jeremiah 18:10. If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

Jeremiah 18:20. Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.

Jeremiah 21:10. For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Jeremiah 24:5. Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

Jeremiah 24:6. For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

Jeremiah 29:32. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:12. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

Jeremiah 31:14. And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 32:39. And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

Jeremiah 32:42. For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

Jeremiah 33:9. And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

Jeremiah 39:16. Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.

Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.

Jeremiah 42:6. Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

Jeremiah 50:12. Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

Lamentations 3:17. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

Lamentations 3:25. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Ezekiel 34:14. I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

Ezekiel 36:31. Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

Daniel 4:9. O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Hosea 3:5. Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

Micah 1:12. For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem.

1 Maccabees 10:55. And king Ptolomee answered, saying: Happy is the day wherein thou didst return to the land of thy fathers, and sattest in the throne of their kingdom.
